What A Crappy Evening!

Got stopped for not wearing a seat belt. He kept my drivers license and sending them back to DMV to be cancelled. Wouldn't let me drive, so Wanda had to take over from there and drive. Have to go get a social security number verification in order to get my licence back from DMV. Never in my life lost my license until now and it took something small as a stupid SS#.I feel cheated! If I had to have license taken, rather have had it been something bigger to make it worth the trouble. LOL Oh well, life goes on and I get to set back while Wanda does all the driving. lol Maybe Wanda will pay my $15 seat belt ticket too. ;-)

History Lesson

True or not, I don't known. A friend sent it to me and I enjoyed reading and wanted to share it, so here goes........

There is an old Hotel/Pub in Marble Arch, London, which used to have a gallows adjacent to it. Prisoners were taken to the gallows, (after a fair trial of course) to be hung.
The horse drawn dray, carting the prisoner, was accompanied by an armed guard, who would stop the dray outside the pub and ask the prisoner if he would like "ONE LAST DRINK",
If he said YES, it was referred to as "ONE FOR THE ROAD"
If he declined, that prisoner was "ON THE WAGON"
So there you go.. More bleeding history.

They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery. If you had to do this to survive you were, "Piss Poor", but worse than that, were the really poor folk, who couldn't even afford to buy a pot, they "Didn't have a pot to Piss in" & were the lowest of the low.
The next time you are washing your hands and complain, because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be.

Here are some facts about the 1500's:
Most people got married in June, because they took their yearly bath in May and they still smelled pretty good by June. However, since they were starting to smell, brides carried a bouquet of flowers, to hide the body odour.
Hence the custom today, of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water.
The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the Bath water!"

Houses had thatched roofs, thick straw piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying "It's raining cats and dogs."

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom, where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top, afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, "Dirt Poor." The wealthy had slate floors, that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing.
As the winter wore on, they added more thresh, until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance-way. Hence: a thresh hold. (Getting quite an education, aren't you?)

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle, that always hung over the fire. Every day, they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight, then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme: "Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot, nine days old".

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon, to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, "Bring home the Bacon." They would cut off a little, to share with guests and would all sit around talking and "Chew the fat".

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning & death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided, according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or "The Upper Crust".

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination, would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road, would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of "Holding a Wake".

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So, they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, thread it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell.
Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night, (the graveyard shift) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, "Saved by the Bell" or was considered a "Dead Ringer"
And that's the truth.

Now, whoever said History was boring ! ! !

Don't know whats ahead for this blog. I bang my head against the wall every day to come up with a post. But after being sick and the surgery, nothing comes to me. Not a rant or joke. Not even a life these days to blog about. I surf the internet, nothing jumps out at me. To tell the truth, I'm having trouble just trying to say what I want, here. Going to give it a bit more thinking. Much as I love blogging, maybe it's came the time to be over and maybe Off The Bricks fits much better than On The Bricks these days.

Jeezzzzzz, it's all got my head spinning! Been working on what gets linked where this evening and I got to say it's all crazy stuff on the internet today. Trying to find good sites that will link where you want. Like getting twitter and a facebook fan page to update when this blog makes posts. Or getting this and that to post on facebook when I do something, say on Flickr or Utube.

And not to mention how many sites there are around the internet that will posts a link from here to there and then back to where ever who knows where, maybe back to the planet Mars!
Oh yeah, then you have to deal with all the sites that will pick up this blog and posts a link more that once at one place. LOL!! I run into that this evening on Twitter. I had posts that were catching up from a year ago and updating on Twitter 2, 3 and 4 times of the same posts. I'm hoping I have that problem corrected now! *crossing fingers* lol

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence ?

Bill of Rights?

Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England ? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America ? No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights, aren't they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center , the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East . No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims who's asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo , Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America .

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslim.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan .

That, Mr. Obama is the "Muslim heritage" in America .

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Chilly came through surgery fine today even though it took an extra hour-and-a-half for it to get done. I was about standing on my ears by the time the Dr. came out.
The Dr. said one of the disks in his neck had completely ruptured and the other two had deteriorated so badly they were rubbing together and completely covered with bone spurs. I left him at the hospital tonight to sleep because he was trying to stay awake with me there.
I will be going back to the hospital in the AM but he will not be able to come home until the afternoon. I'm sure he will get back on the computer as soon as he is able to.
Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers. You really know who your friends are during a time like this. ((((HUGS))))

If you get a chance, maybe you can think about me Tuesday Jan.5 when I will go into the hospital to have metal replacing 3 disc of the cervical spine to fuse it together in 4 places. Have some disc and bone spurs that is compressing on the spinal cord in my neck. Problem is bad enough at this point, if I were to fall or hit my head, very good chance I could snap my cervical spine and damage the spinal cord, which would leave me paralyzed from neck down with no way to ever fix it. So I have no choice but do it.
They found two spots where disc were compressing the spinal cord. Said one was from around 30 years ago and one was in the last few months. I know I've had very small neck pain from time to time over the years, but so small, I just ignored it. Now I wonder if I've been walking with this danger for years or just a short time.

Makes me wonder!

Surgery is Jan.5, 2010 and take 2 to 2 1/2 hours to do surgery. Be back home Jan.6......

unless I get a chance to slip out of the hospital. If so, then I will be home night of the 5th. lol Not staying one minute longer than I have too!!!!!

Down the center of these two photos is the spinal cord. Around the cord is a white fluid to cushion the spinal cord. I have disc and bone spurs that is compressing into the fluid and spinal cord as shown in the 1st photo.

Think about me if you will. Small chance, but yet still a chance I could still become paralyzed in surgery. I can take death, but I can't take paralyzed.

Test, Test And More Test

Latest update on how I am coming along. Many of you will remember I've had a lot going on this year with health. How I am coming a long has not been so good for many months. To recap, I stop smoking nearly eight months ago. The more I quit smoking the sicker I got. Maybe something to it, maybe not. I just don't know but may wonder if the tar and nicotine was covering up and hiding a sickness going on in side me. Anyway, for months now I've felt bad one day, feel good the next or feeling good or bad would change through the day. Get tired, muscles hurt, get out of breath real ez, get so tired, legs give out and I fall. Some days sleep 14, 16, 17 hours before I wake up. Some days sleep 3 hours and be wide awake. And that stuff is still happening today after all these months of not smoking.

At start, my doctor done test, found thyroid under active so she fixed that and I'm still having same problems.
Next she found my blood sugar high and thought maybe that is problem plus my body holding water. She fixed that and I'm still having same problems, so she set me up to see a Neurologist.
So not he sent me for some testing and we'll see what happens after his testing is done. lol But he did learn enough from my visit to him to know there's a problem that can make me do the things my body is doing, just have to find out where the problem lays. So........

This past Friday, I went and had a nerve conduction test done where they stick needles and run electricity to your nerves and muscles to see how they react. Don't care to ever do that again!!!

Now today I had a few more test. One was an echocardiogram and checking my heart for blood flow, leakage and if I had a stroke at sometime.

Next I had an carodit ultrasound test designed to check the blood flow in the arteries in the neck which supplies blood flow to the brain.

Then the fun came this evening when they done an mri of the brain and also an mri of the cervical spine. And then some odds and ends x-rays of the alignment of my neck and back.

The mri wasn't to bad, except you have to lay still without moving and took about 45 minutes with you laying inside of the tube with the walls maybe a couple inches from your face or any part of your body. Plus they clamped my head down so I didn't move it. All in all, the mri wasn't to bad.

I think, but not sure because they wouldn't tell me answers to each test, but I think all test went good except for maybe the mri. Because after they let me out of the mri machine, the guy running it ask me if I ever have numbness in my legs. That made me go hmmm for a minute.

Now to wait for my doctor to correct information on all these test and tell me what it takes to fix me.

Update:Dr called already this morning. MRI didn't go so good. Have appointment to see a surgeon later this month.

The way I understand it all.....
The surgeon I have to see is about my cervical spine. I'm having pinching of the nerves and my spinal cord. I'll know more into it when I set down with the surgeon.

Also I have something called, Neuropathies. Seems I've been a diabetic much longer than I thought and the diabetes is the reason for the Neuropathies.

Update: The show is called "Then Came Bronson". The actor is Michael Parks. And the show aired weekly from Sept.17, 1969 to Sept.9, 1970.

Out Of Town For A Bit....

Wanda and I hit the mountains with some friends last week. Been nearly five years and felt real good to get out for a while. Wanda and I went up to Cherokee, NC on a Friday and spent the night there. Then got up on Saturday and headed on over across the mountain to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, TN. Then met up with our friends in Sevierville, TN. that afternoon. Checked out some Christmas lights in Pigeon Force, but they were still putting up many more each day.

Just a few of many painted bear statues setting around different places through out Cherokee.

Love the mountains and maybe could enjoy living there.

Got A New Toy Today.

Went to the doctor again last week for follow up. Took blood from me again for testing and got the news back. Some how the blood test can show what's going on from 3 months back and seems my sugar is high. And the pills I've been taking for under active thyroid has my thyroid pretty much normal. But I'm still feeling as tired out because my blood sugar is high.

Getting very confusing to me!! I don't understand how the thyroid was the problem before, but now that it's much back to normal and I'm still the same, it's now my sugar level that's making me sick and tired. Get what I'm saying??? Seems a bit odd to me, just to say it nicely! ;-)
Anyway, I now have another pill to take twice a day to bring down my sugar and stick my finger twice a day to check the blood sugar. Yuck!!
First check today was 297. Suppose to be between 107 - 142. Guess it's a little on the upper side, huh!

Is this the best they can come up with?? What I mean, is, are they going to rob people of 15% of widget space for that garbage.

The one on the right seems a bit of false advertising by saying 100% free. I mean, it's like they're taking 15% of they widget or you pay them $50 a year not to take 15%.

And even more childish they banned Caledonian Comment for speaking out on the Entrecard forums about the card saying it's "100% free". Back to their old tricks of censorship I see.

Now the babies have totally closed down the forums. LOL!!!
If people can't run something right, but can't take it when customers call them on it, then why bother??? Gee, grow a thicker skin or get thrown by the way side.

But it really is a damn shame Entrecard is going to hell. Entrecard could have been the biggest thing to have ever hit the internet, I believe.

The wait is over! The new KISS album hit the stores today. Many of the Wal-Mart stores set up a KISS Korner at midnight last night. I've already seen reports today where KISS fans dressed up as KISS with all the face paint and hit Wal-Mart stores to get their copy of the new album last night. I missed out on getting there to pick up the album, but hopefully I'll be able to pick one up sometime in the near future.

KISS hits Atlanta, Georgia Oct.26. Sorry to say I won't be there either because of health reason lots of you already know about. BOO-HOOOO! ;-)

KISS will be on the David Letterman Show tonight with their new album.(Tuesday Oct.6) Hopefully I'll get to see that tonight if the cable tv or power don't crash! Crossing fingers!!! lol

Another date come and gone. lol Ummm, where's the new ~~paid ads~~ Oooops! I mean sponsor ads as Entrecard likes to call them. Like they think we are all bumbling idiots and don't know the differences. Haven't seen any of them yet.

Also, now it looks like BlogUpp is throwing paid ads at the users of the widget now. I am removing those widgets from my blog as soon as I finish posting this.

Guess they didn't think people would noticed they had been deleting comments for days. They will do anything to stop people that won't praise their latest ideas.

I have no problem running your paid ads. BUT.... I will not share one widget with both $$$ paid and ec paid ads. The people that spend time day after day dropping on cards so they can advertise their own blog is way more important to me than someone who can throw down a buck or two for advertising and I will not (can not) pay $50 which would be $100 for my wife and me. We don't have that kind of money to spend on blogs that are only a hobby specially when way more traffic comes from Adgitize and BlogExplosion each.

Like to have answer as quick as possible as you can, for my wife and I have about two days worth of ads waiting to run. After that we will remove widgets and move on. My wife and I both would each close down our blogs before we take anything away from our loyal visitors or running their ec paid ads 100%.

In a few days when all ads have ran, I will be leaving Entrecard and removing the widget. I don't have $50 for this when it's only a hobby even if I wanted to pay it. And I have said over and over that I will not share a widget with ec paying advertisers with others that can just throw in a few bucks to advertise. Even if something else could be worked out, I've had enough, Entrecard just not worth it these days as much more traffic comes from other places so it's time to move on.
I do hope management / staff / most admin and mods will wake up and start acting as if they care about bloggers using the system. Wake up and remember that bloggers can close Entrecard down real fast!

But I'll still be stopping in on lots of you! :-)

Whatever you call it................ ever have one?? Ok, here you a little story on them and maybe even a good lesson about them. LOL
Wanda and I like them when we go see a movie. Get a large one each and they will last nearly the whole movie. I started wanting them more often but I know we can't go to the movies with the price of a going these days, every time I wanted one. So we started looking around and found a few places that carry them, but just not exactly the same. Then we found that a local QuikTrip fast food and gas store carries the same thing we could get at the movies.

Uh ohhh..... LOL! here goes where the problem comes in and maybe the lesson to you if you didn't know this.
At the QuikTrip, you have to get your own shushie. Warning: Anyone easy to heart attacks, stay clear of shushie machines! ;-)
Ok, here we go. Get your cup and get your clear plastic dome lid and put it on. Now, lay your cup on the over flow trap of the machine with the filler neck in the hole of the plastic dome. This is an important step now: Do not seal the hole tight in the dome. lol

I got one a few days ago and I'm just now getting over the shock and able to write this little story. Seems I sealed it to tight, about half the cup was filled and faster than I could see this happen, that plastic dome was broken into a hundred pieces and sounded like a shotgun blast. Lucky the cup stayed in one piece and keep the drink in side. lol

The guy at the store told us that carbonated soda builds up gas and has to exit some how. Now I know after it scared the crap out of me.

From what I read in the Entrecard blog, Paid ads are coming back????? But this time, they will run only 15% of the time instead of 50% as before.

BUT...... the fact is, paid ads and ec ads will be sharing the same widget once again taking away from the ec paying ads??? Right????

Entrecard widget has been moved down into the sidebar. And the Adgitize widget moved to the top as it gives move value than Entrecard does.

Found this earlier and stole it. Thought it to be pretty interesting.

A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons of gas a year.
A vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons a year.
So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.
They claim 700,000 vehicles so that's 224 million gallons saved per year.
That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.
5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption.
More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $70 per barrel costs about $350 million dollars
So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million.
We spent $8.57 for every dollar saved.

How good a deal was that ???

Disregarding the fact that they HIRED 7000 Government Employee's to "oversee" this program, I'm sure they'll do a great job with health care !!

Would love to revisit my late teen years and the 20's. Redo a couple things, but what parts I remember, (not telling why I can't remember parts! lol) those years were the best.

My 30's were pretty good. These were the years I started waking up to which way I wanted to go. And I think I did pretty good on figuring out what I wanted in life. Made big money and lived large. Only problem was, no one ever talked to me about "what if one day you couldn't work again and that money stopped coming in". I learned in my 40's what that meant.

My 40's didn't roll so good, but you never know what life can throw at you to make your life do a 90 degree turn. So I guess I should have set up camp a little better in my 20's and 30's, huh! lol

Just turn 50 couple months ago so I don't have much yet to go on, but so far....... Sucks to be 50 and hate when I am in life. Lived fast and played hard in my teens, 20's and 30's and some times I think those years have caught up with me now. But then I also guess it's all in how you've set your life up as you go....

There's no real yellow bricks roads in the real world to follow!

Some of you may remember a while back when I posted that things for me had gotten so that I couldn't stay focused on what I was doing, feel bad most days and all gets on my nerves and I wondered if it were something to do with using patches to quit smoking.

Well, things for me has gotten worse over the past few weeks. My legs and feet started swelling on me, got so I can't even walk 20 feet before I get tired, weakness and out of breath. Sometimes I even fall because my legs give away. Gained 16 pounds in just one and a half months. Also get tremors. Bad enough that when I take a shower, I have to lean against the shower wall so not to fall. Just some of what is happening to me....

Got to be enough because I wasn't getting any better after I quit smoking as I should have been. Finally gave in to see my doctor a couple days ago and now spending this evening in the hospital and after a lot of testing of blood, lungs, gaining body fluid/water, blood clots, EKG, X-rays and about everything else you can think to test for, turns out it wasn't anything to do with smoking, quitting smoking patches but is an underactive thyroid. I don't know, maybe the cigarettes were given my body enough to hide the thyroid problem for a long time and the more I quit smoking, the more the thyroid problem showed up. I never had any idea the thyroid could do so much damage to ones body.
But at least now I know what is wrong and have to start on meds, then retest and retest over again to get meds adjusted for me and hopefully before long I will be back to my old self...... FINALLY!

KISS's New Album

Kiss drummer Eric Singer says there's “No Ballads, No Slow Songs, No Filler” to the new album coming out. WOW, If that is truly the case, this album will surely be some good old style rock-n-Roll!

Reading what lead up to this new album, last December, Paul Stanley, contacted Eric Singer saying he wanted to make a new Kiss record. He seemed very keen and was very specific about the approach to our latest endeavors. Basically he wanted to make a Kiss record and music in the purest sense. Meaning no outside writers, the BAND plays on everything, and only use vintage equipment.

“I have to say this has been the most fun and pleasure making a record I have ever been involved in. The chemistry and overall vibe really made for such a great atmosphere and the playing, sounds and songs just really capture what Kiss is all about. Classic rock & roll.

As for the songs? Well, no ballads, no slow songs, no filler… From what I read, the band really has come full circle. Seems it's just pure straight-ahead rock and roll that has all the elements that made KISS fans love Kiss from day one.

The new album titled "SONIC BOOM" from Kiss is expected to surface at Wal-Mart stores in the US in October of this year.
I can't wait to grab this new album!!

Les Paul Passes Away At 94

New York, NY…August 13, 2009…Les Paul, acclaimed guitar player, entertainer and inventor, passed away today from complications of severe pneumonia at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York, surrounded by family and loved ones. He had been receiving the best available treatment through this final battle and in keeping with his persona, he showed incredible strength, tenacity and courage. Les Paul was 94.

I remember when I started this blog, I had no clue at all what I was doing or where I was going with it. About the time I started getting tired of all the drama of message forums and thinking maybe I'll give blogging a chance. Figured blogging would be something I could control on what and where it goes. But you know, sometimes I think it's tries to control me on which way it wants to go. ;-)

Anyway, getting tried of forums, I figured blogging would be something I'd give a try. I remember when I started noticing people starting to drop in and even leaving comments. Hmm, I thought this was pretty cool so I started looking for was to get a few more in it and see where this goes.
Well, there's a photo blog that most of you I'm sure know about called New York Nitty-Gritty. I found this blog on Google one day doing a NY photo search, liked the blog and started going there every day. Then started noticing he had an Entrecard widget with a different picture. I clicked a few times and found other blogs and Entrecard. One thing lead to another and I joined Entrecard. Enjoyed using Entrecard even where I started seeing friends and other blogs that I enjoyed a lot started getting ran out of the system. But have done well using the system up until the point that the paid ads came out. Then like many other blogs I've seen, my traffic started falling off. Couple of times lately, I've seen to advertise on my blog dropped down to 64 and 128 ec's. I get vert little traffic out of Entrecard these days. In fact I wondering if it's really worth bothering with anymore.

So I've been playing around with other systems to see what happens. I added BlogUpp to my blog again. It seems to be bringing in about the same amount of traffic as Entrecard does.
Then I added Adgitize. I'm liking it a lot more and it's less work with more traffic than Entrecard gives me these days. Plus I get to widget surf like I used to do with Entrecard, but I only have to do one hundred a day. Only problem I hate, is some people don't place a widget on their blog and you hit a dead end. But that's ok, I pick up on another blog and keep on surfing and I'll remember those that won't run a widget next time I cross them.
Also gave this blog it's own On The Bricks Fan Page over on Facebook which is bringing in a bit of traffic too. So now between the 3 new systems I've added on top of Entrecard, I'm seeing the traffic that once came from Entrecard once again, plus more.

Teen made to smoke 42 cigarettes.

Just read a story today where a teacher in Malaysia caught a student with a cigarette and lighter in his locker. For punishment, made the student smoke 42 cigarettes in 4 hours.
I don't know how cigarettes are packaged there, but here, that is 2 packs plus 2 extra cigarettes. (20 cigarettes in a pack)
I started smoking when I was somewhere around 11 years old and just quit at 50. After smoking all those years, hell, I couldn't come close to smoking 42 in 4 hours! That kid would have to be sick as a dog before even half way.
Said the school apologized after a police report was filed. Didn't say what they have done about this teacher.
But it gets worse. In 2007, the teacher made 140 teenage girls squat in a pond. That punishment was for clogging toilets.
Just makes you wonder how crackpots like that get teacher jobs. I am not so sure I would went the route of filing a police report. Been my kid, I pretty well think I would have made it so this teacher would never ever think about working around kids again.

KISS ARMY One Big Nation. NOT!

People can't understand why I hate living in Georgia so bad. Mostly it's because of the asshole attitudes I find down here from most people I come across.
This morning, it hit me once again. Over on MySpace, I requested a friendship with a KISS Georgia Chapter member a few days ago. Today when I logged in, I had this message asking me if I didn't like living in Georgia, then why would I want to be friends with them. I'm friends with other KISS State Chapters and I don't live in those states and they have no problems.

Never knew where we live or feel about where we live has anything to do with anything! I always thought that KISS fans were a huge world wide thing. KISS fans are suppose to be one big Family/Army/Nation. So that is exactly why I wanted to be friends with someone in Georgia.
Maybe I have been in wrong thinking all these years about what it meant to be a KISS fan!

One More Time Around.....

And then I'm going to sit back in a comfy chair and just watch what happens in the next few months with Entrecard.
As we all I guess know by now that Entrecard was acquired by ZipRunner Inc. Everyone's running around saying Entrecard was sold. Folks, acquired don't have to mean sold. If you notice Graham said in his post that ZipRunner Inc was chosen for Entrecard. Wonder why??? Could it be that ZipRunner Inc invested 100,000 some odd dollars in the past and Graham didn't make a return on their investment, so just maybe Entrecard was more likely repossessed. Just the way I see it when I read Graham's post and Andrew Te's post over on the Entrecard blog. And I also have something to say on those two post in a minute.

I'm seeing all over the place a bio on ZipRunner Inc. I still have no idea what it is, what they do or anything about them. I'm guessing they buy, sell, invest in other companies. Do they know anything about running something like Entrecard?? Will they just end up dumping Entrecard to someone else.

If this whole story is true or made up!

If it is true, is anyone other than me worried about Graham as an advisor for ZipRunner Inc. I'm hoping ZipRunner owning Entrecard is true and can put it back on it's feet. Because at this point, I'm honestly getting way more traffic from other places than I get from Entrecard and not worth my time dropping anymore. But with Graham, it will never happen.
I mean come on, what kind of company would not check to see what kind of feelings the customers have about the product??? I'm guessing ZipRunner never checked for comments from customers or they would have seen many complaints and see just how many walked away from Entrecard up to date. And also if they had, they would have to see that it was Graham and his lame tricks and changes to Entrecard that has also killed Entrecard and Andrew Te would not have been praising Graham in his post.
That for one makes me wonder if the whole thing is made up for us to start following and believing in Graham once again. Andrew Te's and Graham's post on the Entrecard blog are so much alike. Makes me wonder if Graham wrote them both.

I also have one huge question now, maybe more like curiosity than anything else. Graham is finally a blogger, (ok, that's funny as hell to me, but another story) so why does he not display an Entrecard widget????

Now, something I've learned an be watching and haven't seen anything said about it. If the Entrecard widget has been taken off of a blog, but still have an account on Entrecard. And the paid ads line up to be approved, as we know already, approved or not, they still run, ok...... here's where it gets fun. Blog has no widget but paid ads are lining up, if you leave them just sitting there, then somehow they do collect ec's for that blog.
Sounds great for the people using the paid ad system, huh! NOT!

Alright, like I said in the beginning of this post, I'm going to lay off Entrecard for now and sit back and see where this Entrecard/ZipRunner Inc thing goes. Hoping we will can soon begin to see Entrecard coming back to where it once was. :-D

I can almost hear grandma saying that when I think on it, and I even catch myself asking it sometimes.
How about you, do you work on Sundays??? Oh I don't mean do you have a job that works you on Sundays. Sure you have to make a living somehow and sometimes a job can force you to work on Sunday.

My grandmother told me a story once about we shouldn't work on Sunday. It was a day for God and also meant for a day of rest. But you can't leave an ox in the ditch, so sometimes work is needed and alright.
I remember it was just this way when I was growing up. Every Sunday was a sit around day watching TV or maybe having company to visit. Most afternoons we would go out for a ride. I loved those trips because I used to ride laying up on the back shelf of the car above the back seat looking out the back window. And every Sunday I would see roads and places that I'd never seen before. Grandpa used to say, 'What fun would just out riding around be if you go somewhere you've already been'.

So I was brought up to not work on Sunday. I grow up in North Carolina and I rarely noticed anything happening on Sundays. Everything pretty will laid back, even the stores wasn't real busy. I moved to Georgia and I see houses being build, grass being cut. Seems people do just anything they want any day they want.
I make a comment about something being done on Sunday that I can't believe they're doing and Wanda just keeps telling me it just the different places in the world doing different ways.
Maybe so, I just don't understand I guess! The would moves to fast for me these days!

Sunday night we had a small storm. Not to bad at all and maybe lasted an hour. Around midnight, our cable channels and internet crashed. So ok, it's crashed and we wait a little bit, nothing happens so we give up and go to bed. Next morning, still down, nothing, crashed. Wanda calls them. LOL think she's scared to let me call them. ;-)
Anyway, got them on the phone and they get no signal showing going into our modem so they then check on the channel. Then a recording comes on saying to call back because they are going to disconnect us. Call back a 2nd time. Then tell us they think there's an area outage. (umm yeah! I know that before I called) It will be back up running soon. Noon time still nothing. Around 6:00pm Monday evening (yesterday) we get cable and internet back. Oh, and never did get why it was down. LOL!

I've been with a lot of internet companies over the last 10 years or so with moving around. I have to say Comcast has been by far the worse yet! Sad part is, in these back woods where we live, a person can't do better than Comcast.

Do you use them??? I mean do you really use them or just join because it's there and become just another one of the numbers game. Oh, do you not know what "numbers game" means?? It's when you join, then add all the people you can find just in seeing how many you can get on your friendship list or following/followers.

Be it Twitter, StumbleUpon, Facebook or whatever system out there, I just don't get it why would someone join and then ignore people or only bother to speak now and then.
The sites must be called social networking for some reason, but it gets old when you speak and never get a reply and some wanted added on and have never spoke yet.
Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe it's just me. I don't know, but starting to rethink my list on these kinds of sites. They don't want social, why do I need to bother??

Entrecard.... Here we go again. (follow up)

This was suppose to be a comment on my last post here, but it got a little long and it's easier just to make another post than to take time to thin it down.
I think people are getting worked up on my last post until we see what Graham could be up to and as we know by now that could be anything under the sun.
I didn't write the post to stir people against this or that. I have no clue if it will be judged on comments or how long we are there or what. Those two are the only thing I can think of that could be. And if it's either one of those changes, my use of Entrecard will be cut way down to 15-20 blogs a day because with all the changes thrown at Entrecard, most blogs I care to read have been ran off. But I just thought it was funny that here we go again with another change because Graham's changes usually turn out crap.
And bounce rate???? I could care less. LOL Don't truly even know much about it. I blog because it gives me something to do. A hobby plain and simple. I love that some of you read my blog and some comment. But if you didn't, so what as far as care. If I failed, I find something else to do.
And ya know, looks to me like Graham would fix Entrecard problems already there before he makes more problems. To start with, your forums suck. Who ever heard of closing out the world to an Introduction forum. Dumbest thing I even heard! I gave up going to the forums and seeing all the negative garbage of Entrecard and Entrecard started getting better to deal with and I only focused on the good which is the people and blogs I met. Cleaning out the system of dead and deleted blogs would be nice. Why should we have to get punished for dropping on a deleted blog still having a widget. It's not our fault, but yet the customer gets punished. Still trying to figure out how that fair. lol
I have a blog linked to this one. (Kool Kustoms) I took the widget off that blog two months ago because I found a paid ad running and shouldn't have been any. And I reported the blog needed deleted because I had just taken the widget off. I just went into switch accounts to see if it was still there right before I started writing this. Yep, sure enough, still there with paid ads lined up wanting to run. Dang, there's not even a widget on the blog already! Guess what, bet the blog will be deleted this time now that I have said here for the world to see. lol

And what's happened to blogs. Used to be all those better blogs, (ok, by better, I mean to my interest.) Were always up top with 1000 or more ec's to advertise on them. ALWAYS! Now I find all the blogs that when I started Entrecard (that is still around) always at the top are all towards to bottom in the 300's to 64 ec's to advertise on. That should tell someone something pretty quick. ;-)

Yes Lynne, I to use to do 900 drops a day, 7 days a week with three blogs. This blog, Kool Kustoms, and 1Blog and 2Sides. Gave the recipe blog to my wife, dumped Kool Kustoms, and I do around 175 drops a day now. And that may drop to about 15 to 25 or less if this change brings on what I think it will.

Aldon Hynes, I do and have asked myself many times if it's possible that Graham is trying to kill Entrecard. Many times it has looked that way.

Oh and can someone explain to me this, I drop from a list. Same blogs on list every day for nearly a year. Some have dropped off and some have been added. But most are still on my list. Anyway, you drop for nearly a year every day, but never hit a top drop list. I've seen people post their monthly top droppers of 10, some 20 some even post their top 30 droppers. How do I miss making somewhere on a list that big when I drop on these blogs every day. It tells me that Entrecard's stats are way off bases.

After reading that from the Entrecard blog tonight, makes me wonder just what crazy idea is up Graham's shirt sleeve this time! Looks to me as if he's going to stir up a lot of spamming within the blogs of Entrecard users. I can only see that Graham is talking about making comments for credits. I don't comment if I don't have something to say. So could this be the move that finally pushes On The Bricks out the doors.

As far as drop n run, I couldn't care less if they drop it to 20 a day drop limit. lol

75 Days Ago

As many of you know, I just quit smoking. I am now on my own free of all nicotine and all the other poisons in cigarettes. But I did use NicoDerm as an aid to help me quit. Also the website Quitnet was a huge help. Used this product for 10 weeks in 3 different steps. This is a patch that you wear one a day for 10 weeks that supplys nicotine only into your blood system. Each step in the NicoDerm gives you less nicotine into your body. No smoking at all with the patches. I will admit I had very few cravings for a cigarette. But did have many wants for one which taught me a lot into smoking is much a habit.

Now, I will says this for the NicoDerm patches. It worked great to help me stop smoking. Can't say it will for you because everyone is different, but it did for me. And I think when I say it worked for me, it's saying a lot for the product because when I put down cigarettes 75 days ago, I 100% in my heart did not want to quit. I still would love to be smoking. I enjoyed it but I have to say that I've went this far, I won't go back.
But I do have to confess, that somewhere about three weeks into quitting, I did give into the cravings. I smoked one and it did nothing for me. Couple hours later I smoked another and still nothing. So I gave it up and stuck to the quitting program.

Ok, as I said, it's working for me. But here's the kick back and if I knew what I know now, I never would have quit. And I hope what I'm about to say does not stop anyone who is thinking of using NicoDerm to quit smoking because it's not only NicoDerm that is the problem. In fact one may could look at it as NicoDerm isn't in fault at all. And also if you remember I said that everyone is different.
One body goes through many changes as you quit smoking. I'm felt tightness in my chest and in my lungs so much that I hurt. I've had days that I felt good one day and bad the next. Had days that I woke up feeling bad but as day went on, I felt better, and also the opposite some days. There has been more bad days than good. I'm off the patches now but still some days are pretty bad. In the first 6 weeks I started coughing up the black tar from my lungs from cigarettes. To tell the truth, I've felt a lot like I was/am on a drug for the last 75 days. Sometimes I truly don't know what I am doing. Have to stop and think about what I'm doing. Can't keep a thought in my head for very long without getting side tracked. Get confused a lot, can't focus very long on anything. And get bored with anything and everything within a couple of minutes. People and everything gets on my nerves. What's really bad is when you get on your own nerves. I get mad easy and most times when I do, I don't know why.
The worst hell I think there is when people can't understand what's happening to someone that is quitting. They don't know what it's like and don't understand and they act like your being silly over the whole thing. And your having a craving, and someone that does not or never have smoked says, "no you don't really need to smoke. It's all in your thinking you do". They just don't know how tight my hands could get around their throat. LOL!
Yeah, I can still laugh on it, but come on people. Have and give at least little respect for someone you know or who is dealing with quitting something, be it cigarettes, drugs, drinking, or whatever.

But what I am going through is a small price that some have paid because of cigarettes. I think of Debra of MamaFlo's Place blog at least once a day about what's she's going through now. Stop by there when you can and say hi, She's a cool lady for sure!

Anyway, this is why my blog posting has fell off so much and didn't mean to go on so long with this. Just hope you can make heads or tails out of what I said. lol

I could wonder about that as I travel around the internet today. It's Micheal Jackson everywhere I turn. Ya know, I can see it all now. You remember when Elvis died?? Ha, people hasn't let him die yet. And Jackson, I feel is going to be the same way. Now I see on Yahoo news that they're going to do an autopsy to see if prescription drugs killed him.
And why or how is he more important than anyone else. Seeing a lot of blogs that post about his death and Farrah Fawcett's death. Many of them I see a big post wrote up about Jackson with pictures and some even with videos attached. Then you only see at the bottom a small post about Fawcett. Some with and some with even a picture of her. Then some only have a small picture of her with a caption that only says, "RIP Farrah Fawcett".
The same goes for Ed Mcmahon. I've seen very little about him.
Jeezzz, when someone dies, just let them die already and they are no better than anyone else, no matter who they are.

And before the nasty comments come in, I'll say, No I did not like Micheal Jackson now or when he was with the Jackson5 just as I didn't like Elvis. I've seen Micheal Jackson in concert when he was Jackson5 and after the break up of that group and I saw Elvis in concert too. I saw them only because I do love their music.

This post is kind of a follow up to the comments I got on the last post I made. HERE I haven't been ignoring your comments, but have been thinking on each one you made.
And truly, I really don't want to get out of blogging because it has given me much enjoyment. Not to mention all the enjoyment I've got out of finding you guys.
A couple of you have noticed already that I have turned Entrecard ads back on this evening. (EC paid ads only) Still not really coming up with ideas for postings to give you. But I'll make a post shortly on what I think has put me into this hole and what I feel about it and somewhat regret ever getting myself in it.
So bottom line is, I'll do what I can when I can and try to give you my best when I can give you something to read. hmmm, hope you understand what I just tried to say better than I do. lol

Ok, not going to ramble on anymore with this. Think you understand it all......... I'm staying where I am. Sorry to those who were happy if I were leaving. lol

ummm, but I haven't made up my mind if I'll still keep the bricks and title or give this site a makeover. This brain works mighty slow these days. lol

No reason to put it off any longer.
Letting you all know that I will not be taking anymore Entrecard ads. Ones already set to run, will run as normal and I will keep dropping until the last ad has ran.
Hell, I don't know what I want to say here. I just know I hate to quit but as most have seen, I haven't made a post in forever. For me, no posting means no fun, and I can't stay focused when I'm reading other blogs, so why bother with it.

Why?????? I don't know. I just don't feel it anymore. My attention span lately is like 2 minutes for anything until I get totally bored with it. Everything plus myself get on my nerves all the time. I do know what I think is a large part of the problem, but I'll keep my opinion plus a few other things. Hopefully there will be some changing in me back towards myself within the next couple or three weeks.

Maybe one day I'll try this again. Who knows, maybe that ole brick will hit the bottom of the pond and my blog can come back with a new look and feel. (yeah, hoping now)
I did think up maybe I could just start posting photos of the area I live in. Something like a photo blog until I get past this. So I get up to the huge town ;-) of Auburn, and the freaking rubber band holding the battery door closed on my camera, fell off. (That is no joke) So I'm trying to fix it and it drives me nuts. A simple job as that is. Anyway, I threw the camera into the backseat of the car and drove off with no picture. But that ok, I realized last night that I would run out of subjects to shoot in my area within a week anyhow.

Alright, that's about it. Love you guys and enjoyed it, made some great friends! Was fun!

Hi everyone, I'm still kicking. Yeah I know, I haven't made a post for what seems a life time and I'm sorry about it! I've never come close to this long between making posts.
Don't know what's going on. I've been reading other blogs more than I ever have, also I've read so many different posts made for given ideas on what to post when you get stumped or dry up on blogging. But nothing strikes an idea. Even my last post was nothing but a copy and paste posts.
I don't know if it's anything to do with these quit smoking patches I'm using or what it is. They are working great for me quitting, but I really do feel like they are messing with my mind. Just know I have never been like I am right now. Can't stay focused on anything, I get bored with everything under the sun within just a few minutes and everything gets on my nerves, yeah even I get on my own nerves all the time. I feel down many times a day. I open the page for making a post and draw a blank right then.
lol I'm to ashamed to tell you how long it's took me to write this post. But I will say it's been well more than a day.
Anyway, Not meaning for this to be a crying on your shoulder post. I decided to post it like it is, plus I mostly wanted to say I'm sorry I haven't given something/anything to read.

Washington Can Be So Stupid!

Seems Washington came up with this idea to update the Air Force One. So Louis Caldera goes and approves a photo of The Air Force One flying over the Statue Of Liberty. The photo is estimated to cost taxpayers $328,835. $35,000 just in fuel for Air Force One and the escort of two jet fighters across NYC.

The sight of the huge passenger jet and an F-16 fighter plane flying past the Statue of Liberty and the lower Manhattan financial district sent panicked office workers streaming into the streets on April 27.

Obama said it was a mistake to do and would not happen again. Well duh! Wonder if it ever even crossed their minds that it wouldn't happen?? Sure people are going to panic attack these days when they a huge plain with two jet fighters flying anywhere in the USA, specially near NYC and Washington, DC. I think it was a real stupid move by those in Washington. And Calsera should be canned because if he is so stupid in approving something like this, what else might he do??

If you use Twitter as many people do today. I found a pretty neat retweet button at TweetMeme and Blog Godown that you can add to your blog post that makes it very simple and quick to tweet someones post if they have the button installed. And when you have it, it makes it easy on others to retweet your posts.
You can see what it looks like to the right. A green button that says "retweet" and also gives the number of times a post has been twittered. Can also get the button in a smalled size.
TweetMeme even has a widget you can add to your blog.

Ever Reach Out Making A Wish....

Find a sweet looking and ever sweeter sounding guitar at one of my visits to the Guitar Center store. Has a very warm tone to it with a gold finish on the top and a brown woodgrain finish for the sides and back.

And now I never thought I'd ever say this in a million years, But I can't wait until tonight when American Idol comes on. I've only ever seen maybe five miutes of the show and that was all I could take. Sorry to all you American Idol fans, I just don't fancy those kinds of shows. 16 Days And Still Kicking...

Ohhh yeah, and Wanda is still living and staying safe. lol
I quit 16 days ago today after smoking for about 37 years. Some of you have asked how I'm doing on quitting smoking and sorry that I haven't got back to answering it. I get caught up in other things and time seems to slip by. So getting it done now. Only one problem to quitting smoking for me, I didn’t want to quit and part of me still don’t want to quit, but, I will not pay the prices of cigarettes today.

I’ve never the whole time I've smoked ever tried to quit and pretty much know by not wanting to quit, there is no way I can do it cold turkey so I’m using the Nicoderm patches. And reading a website called QUITNET. A great site with a lot of help. The website is a program through my insurance company to help people quit smoking along with other addictions that some people have. Plus I have someone that calls me from time to time to see how I'm doing or answer any questions that may come up, and I'm also able to call the person if I hit a hard place and need help getting through it. But so far all is good. Maybe to good! Not one craving for a smoke in 16 days but I have had a few times that I just wanted one. Specially after a meal. Which tells me it was/is only a habit each time. And when I do want one, I grab a lifesaver candy.

Sure, there's been some up and down times where I just feel like crap. I'm sure there's more times to come. Times when I don't want anyone near me or mess with me, but they don't last to very long. I've starting yesterday and so far today feeling ok as I did before I quit. Hoping I stay like this the rest of the way. The want for a smoke seems to be getting less now. That is until I get worked up or feel pushed about something.
So all is going real good and like I said, maybe going to good. Can't help but wonder what and when is something going to break loose from hell and hit me hard because it's going all to smooth.

Anyway, taking it day by day, sometimes minute by minute and waiting until I am totally smoke free. :-)

YOU just don't get it, do you????????? You don't treat people like a text book full of rules!! Closing any of these forums off to Entrecard members, (specially the General Chat) is the dumbest thing done in every way. You guys still claim Entrecard is community. What do you think General Chat is for??? It's for people to learn each other, to meet and make friends and yes it's away to find to blogs. Even to discuss likes and dislike about Entrecard and anything else under the sun. Without people getting together, you have no community, no matter what your crazy ideas floating around in your heads tell you. And that goes for all of management. You guys had better wake up before it's to late more than it is now. (And Andy, for god sakes, your only 19 years old, you haven't lived life long enough to know what 1000's of people need. Much less try to be this ruler of a forum as your doing.)
And yes, I know your going to delete this, 1. because you won't listen to the members of Entrecard, 2. because you won't think of hearing what's good for Entrecard, for you've got it drilled into your head what is best for us and you don't know crap, 3. The forums change of lately is just a small part of the problems I have with Entrecard. But it is just another part where they are showing how little they care about being fair to their members.
The widgets sharing ec ads with paid ads is my biggest complaint. Not fair to either side. I do not run the paid ads here and it's also becoming to much trouble when advertising and trying to find other's that don't run paid ads so mine will show 100% also.
Since the paid ads came out, I've had maybe 4 ec adverts to come my way and traffic has fell way off, but I've had over hundred paid ads wanting to advertise on this blog. I do 300 drops every day and with the return coming back anymore, just not worth it.

Oh and while I'm thinking of it, I'm sure most of you had noticed many blogs have been deleted lately and some of you were the ones getting deleted for one reason or the other. Who do you think was doing these deletes and who's ec's were growing to a huge amount.

Cigarette Tax Increase, More Smokers to Quit

The 62-cent-per-pack federal tax increase on cigarettes -- earmarked to fund the expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program -- has resulted in a surge in smokers looking for help to quit, the Washington Post reported April 3.

In recent weeks, tobacco "quit lines" nationwide have registered an increase in calls. A national telephone number, 1-800-QUITNOW, registered 203,374 calls in March, more than twice February's 91,316; in January, it received 76,685 calls. In Washington, D.C., the quit line got a record 131 calls the day before the tax went into effect; the same day a week earlier, it had 44 calls; a month earlier, 19.

"I'm in shock, quite frankly," said Debra Annand, director of health education services for the American Lung Association's District of Columbia office. "Obviously something happened to drive that call volume up."

At the association's office the shock over the price increase is evident, said counselor Robert Wright. The number of people seeking help in the past was three or four people each month -- now, that many inquire each day. "I just got a young guy who said he was told a pack cost $8, and he said, 'No way!'" Wright said.

Rhode Island now has nation's highest cigarette tax.
The nation's smallest state now has the highest tax on cigarettes in the U.S., levying $3.46 cents in taxes on every pack sold, the Providence Journal reported April 9.

A $1-per-pack increase in the state cigarette tax went into effect last week, on top of a hike in the federal tobacco tax from 39 cents per pack to $1.01 per pack that was implemented on April 1. Combined, the taxes are expected to drive the price of a premium-brand pack of cigarettes up from about $6.50 to about $8.35.

The state's Republican governor, Don Carcieri, proposed the tax increase as part of his plan to close a $357-million budget deficit, and the Democrat-controlled legislature approved the increase. The state also raised the tax on smokeless tobacco, snuff and pipe tobacco from 40 percent of the wholesale price to 80 percent.

Despite the tax increase, Rhode Island doesn't necessarily have the country's highest cigarette prices, since some other states impose a minimum price markup in addition to taxes.

Our Government driving these prices up on cigarettes, hitting people in the pockets, and yet lots of jobs are gone now, what is our great all mighty government going to say when many people are cut out of jobs when cigarette companys sales come to a big slow down. This is just one more way the government can push us around and shows how much they care about people making a living.

Ok, I give up! I've sit and thought on this and I don't have a clue what to do about adverts! Many more are starting to approve the ads. I strongly feel that Entrecard is wrong and unfair making us split the ads 50/50 on one widget and I want people that advertise on my blog, to get all they can while running an advert here. But I'm losing out big time on both ec credit paid adverts and drops coming back per day and I don't know if it's because I won't approve the paid ads or what it is. I guess it's either give up and play their sorry ass get rich off us game or I get weeded out.
I'm sorry to all that have been faithful to On The Bricks, who have followed and keep coming back if I do give up and start approving the paid ads. :-(

Update: I'm very sorry to say that during dropping tonight was totally the biggest bore.
The one thing I really enjoy about dropping, is seeing the many different card designs in the widgets. That didn't happen tonight! Most of my 300 drops showed about 4 of the same paid ad cards.
I'm going to have to give Entrecard a lot a thought.

I see we now have a spot on our dashboard for the 3rd party ads to be approved or rejected. Same place as where peoples adverts show up to be approved that want to run on our blogs. Approved ads line up down the right side for when they will run each day. So..........
If we approve the 3rd party ads, do they take the place of our blog adverts, jumping ahead of peoples adverts or what?? When do the 3rd party ads run. And if the 3rd party ad does take the place of someones advert, then when does that persons advert run??? Haven't seen any kind of answer to this up to now.

KISS To Release New Album In September

Paul Stanley, the "Star Child" one member of the greatest band in the land has confirmed that KISS is writing new songs and will release a new album by September. KISS hasn't recorded an album in 10 years. KISS members Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer also plan a American tour, European tour, South American tour, and Canadian tour.
The album is going to be much the vintage, classic and 70's kind of album. Going back to the roots that made KISS the greatest band for many years.

Just let the tour come near me and you can bet I'm going to be there seeing them for the 5th time! :-))

Salt Lake City, Utah, seems a car pulled up to the drive-thru window at a McDonald's in Salt Lake City and the driver ordered off the lunch menu on Sunday. But when they were told only breakfast was being served. A man got out of the car, opened the trunk and pulled out a shotgun. Fired the gun twice into McDonald's, then drove off. No one was hurt.

Detroit, Mich, a woman sues a police dog for biting her in the butt. To the Judge, the lawsuit was frivolous and slapped a $500 fine on her. The woman had filed the lawsuit back last August against several of the K-9 unit dept. officers alomg with the police dog.
The woman claimed she had nerve damage since the dog bit her during a confrontation back in April with police, her own daughter and some other people.
Neither police nor city attorney could find and evidence of dog bite on the woman.

Appleton, Wis. A woman charged with animal abuse after landlord found 20 cat skeletons in home the woman rented. Eight charges include five felony counts of mistreating animals. Landlod entered the home after she had abandoned it. The landlord found anaimal feces and cat skeletal remains. Some in plastic bags.
The woman told police she took in stray cats. Three litters were born while she lived there. Also told that she abandoned the home when the male cats became aggressive, only returning occasionaly to feed them until she just stopped going back.

Here we go again! Am I going to have to turn to playing online games or go back to playing with image making pregrams because I am getting so bored with websites anymore.
Why would people start up sites if they don't want to run them right?? Every site I get into for a while now is either built on lies or broken and buggy software. And if it's not broken, they monkey around with it until it is broken.

Anyone using Facebook?? There's one I started using a while back. They care less about their members, can't get any help or anything fixed on that site. Then they go changing the home page. Works and looks much like Twitter. Millions of people are hating it, but they won't listen to it's members.

Want to talk about Twitter??? Yep, I use it too. It's turned into garbage. Stays broken. I even started a new account because they wouldn't get my other account fixed. Worked good for about two weeks, not it's broken. Not to mention it's getting to be full of ads being twittered. And half the people you follow, won't follow back.

Anyone hang out at forums a lot?? There used to be a forum system called Ezboard. One of the largest systems on the internet. Well, one day they come up and say the software is to old to do anything with it. So they are going to build a bigger system to replace it. This was suppose to be a forum/Myspace/blogs all built together. Something for everyone all under one system and this system is called Yuku. LOL what a joke it turned out to be. More bugs than any site on the internet. And built totally on lies from the start! The user profiles are a copy of MySpace. The forums crash, posts disappear from time to time. They built blogs with not even half the tools you need and is attached to the users profile. They let porn and redirects slip into their ads. Not that's something for your child to see, huh! NOT!

MySpace! May just be that very thing. Just my space on the internet and nothing more. Yeah, I joined it too. Like it pretty good while someone isn't trying to hack into my account. Every few weeks I get message from MySpace telling me someone tried to hack my account and need to change password. But MySpace has gone pretty dead and boring the last few months.

Most all likes music I guess?? Tried Blipfm.com?? Fun site! Ok, it was until it broke. Half my links aren't working and I've been waiting and waiting and waiting somemore for someone to do something about it. Gotten not even any kind of answer back from them.

Entrecard.... Entrewhaaaaaaaaaaaat!! That is what I'm asking myself a lot lately because most of the widgets I see on blogs don't have the card showing. Just a dull black box with Entrecard image along with a green dot and check mark. How boring!
And 16,000 some odd number........ ummm, is that all the blogs there is using Entrecard?????? But I could half way believe this because every day when dropping on my way to 300 a day drops, I run across at least 10 blogs that have left Entrecard or blogs that have been deleted but still showing a widget.

Yeah, It looks like this blog is finding something to complain about all the time lately and it's not the direction I want it to go. But this kind of stuff stays on my mind because I'm getting so bored with sites that act like they could care less. And there's a lot more than I just listed that I could talk about along with more about each that I did list, but.........

I'm starting to bore myself with this subject! ;-)

Odd stuff happening with Entrecard.

I've noticed drops have dropped off a bit here. Now that makes me wonder if people are tiring of coming here or people can't drop or people are not bothering to drop because they're so lost on which way Entrecard is going at this time. But I'm more wondering if maybe the drops are not adding up??? Because some are coming up as the old one entrecard.s3.amazonaws.com/adspot/xxxxx , but some are coming up as entrecard.com/apn/advert?spot=xxxxx . I know I'm sure wondering where it's going. How much damage is the update stuff really doing to Entrecard if that's the case!
Couldn't even get into the Entrecard site most of yesterday. Also seeing a lot of black Entrecard logos on peoples widgets instead of the cards that is suppose to be running at the time. So will we lose out because cards didn't run, or get refunded the credits, or what??
Lots of odd questions and no answers or statements from management coming out. Not even the Entrecard blog covers a lot that is happening.

Wanda's a real pain in the neck!

LOL! Ok, not really. Just having a little fun with the title. But she is having pain in her neck.
Yesterday we spent the afternoon and evening at the hospital having her checked out after her and her mom in her mom's car got hit in the rear by another car while stopped at a traffic light. But thankful it didn't turn out to be the worse damage in her neck. Seems to have just tricked the muscles a bit and they also found she had some arthritis built up that this more than likely flared it up to. So they gave her some muscle relaxers and pain meds.
Those meds seem to knock her out of my way for a bit..... Oooops, did I just say that????? lol I mean they knock her out for a bit so she rest and sleeps good. So asking you guys to keep her in your thoughts and if you pray, maybe throw one out there for her to heal quickly.

One part of yesterday that was funny...... Well, I'll tell you this first. A few days ago, Wanda fell at her mom's house and hit her nose and eye on a table edge. So she already has a small black eye from that.
Well........ She went in to the little room at the hospital yesterday for them to take blood pressure and all the stuff they do to you before you see the doctor. First words out of their mouth was, asking Wanda if she felt comfortable living in her home. Wanda thought the question was because of the black eye, but come to find out, they ask everyone the same question. First we had ever heard of it. lol

Awesome weekend, then there's Entrecard.

Took a few days offline this weekend because I got a great surprise phone call Friday evening from a friend from back home that I haven't seen in 3 years. We talk on the phone, but haven't seen him. He's a fine friend for 22 years and my best man at mine and Wanda's wedding. He's a long haul truck driver and he got stuck in my area waiting for a load to pick up. Well, his dispatcher having trouble finding him a pick up said it could be Saturday or maybe even Monday before they find something. So he called and we got together and spent the weekend here with us. Had a great time catching up with him. Only thing could have made the visit better, would have been for his wife to been here with him. Maybe next time! :-))

I get back online and find different places, along with in email about Entrecard changes coming. Seeing a few concerns with it, but not seeing some clear answers to my understanding.

What I do see that I don't like at all, but not fully understand, is the parts about 3rd party ads on our blogs. Will our cards be replaced with 3rd party ads on blogs we advertise on or will we use another widget for these ads??

Not liking the fact that Entrecard is telling where we have to put widgets! Yes I do put mine above the fold and always will. But it's our blogs and people should have the say so on how they run their own site.

NOT saying I will leave Entrecard. I want to understand it more and see where this change is going before I say if I leave. Besides I enjoy Entrecard and the people I have met and like the traffic I get from Entrecard. But guess I need to think on how to replace the traffic if I do decide to go.

But, I do not like the idea of running 3rd party ads that I have no control over, or that is not fit for people to see on my blog. And I will not runs ads that makes money for someone else and I don't get my share. And by that I mean it has to be worth the bother on my part.

Also, I never turn down other blogs from advertising on my blog, so the rejecting of any ads don't bother me to much, but I do not see it's right to pay, and I can not see myself ever giving in to doing so for rejecting one if I feel the need to do so.

This is just to far and I'm not sure what to think or really what to say. But I did read about this kind of thing in a newspaper just a few weeks ago and about planting micro chips in us and our ID cards and driving liences coming in the near furture. 50 year old Michael Jackson says it's the end of the road in London. He's returning for 10 shows beginning July 8th. Hard to believe he's that old and retiring, but I saw him years ago when he was a kid singing in the group Jackson5. But dang, I was a kid myself at that time. I remember always switching my favorite groups back and forth between bands like the Jackson5, The Osmonds, Abba, Air Supply, etc... Yeah that was before I woke up and started listening to real rock-n-roll music. ;-)
Guess all has to come to an end some day and the world keeps spinning for the next generation. :-)

Maybe a big question to most is, WHY?
Is Twitter just a numbers game to you? Seems at times that people are only after how many followers they get collect. At least that's the kind of twitter post I see a lot of. My biggest question about Twitter I have is, when you have hundreds of followers, how do you follow all those people?
A while back, there was a movement on Entrecard about following other Entrecard members. And yes I fell right in with many others on this. But I have many times wondered why I did. There's been a few that I have followed because I am interested in them. But I did go ahead and followed back any Entrecard members that followed me. I once had a bunch more followers not on Entrecard that followed me that I have no idea why me. Because when I look at their blogs, they are all about money and marketing. Something that I most less care about. So that is one thing that makes me wonder if it's all about a numbers game because these people have thousands of follows and followers.
Twitter has gotten very boring to me. Yeah I do set and lurk on Twitter much but rarely ever post on it anymore. Most Twitter post are nothing more than an ad about money, marketing, or how to get million zillion trillion followers.
Now I have only a couple hundred followers and I still can't follow them all. Some I don't even know who they are and never seen before until they followed me.
Many times I don't understand what Twitter is for. Headline above the post box says, "What are you doing?".
Well, that confuses me at times because I see people posting what their doing and I do the same thing, then you have people complaining about that is spamming. Maybe I'm missing something big.
Oh well, what do ya do! :-)

Latest Project

Before

A Victorian Parlor table. Tried my best to find the exact date on this table, the best I could find was between the mid to late 1800's. The owner is thinking about getting a marble top on it. But we are having trouble finding someone that's willing to do a job this small. Everyone we find wants to sell a whole sheet of marble just to get a small cut out of it. So I just put the wooden top back on and hopefully one of us will some day come across a marble top to fit it. Also it's suppose to have a small wheel on bottom each leg of the table, but the owner didn't want them replaced. It's really fun to work on a piece of furniture this old and bring a useful life back into it.

What a last couple of days it's been...

You ever need a that one guitar you've been eye balling or just need something for your guitar, check out Guitar Center. I've been looking at their website from time to time and found out there is a store near by. I have been wanting to pick up a set of strap locks for my guitar, so Tuesday, we took a trip over to have a look at the place. Oh boy was I ever in heaven when I walked in that store. There were guitars and amps from ceiling to floor all over that store and anything else you could think of to go with making music. Only seen maybe a dozen or so guitars I'd like to have and the amps to go with them. LOL!
Even picked up a few tips to go with my learning to play guitar while I was there. The people were very friendly who worked there too. Plus your allowed to sit and play every guitar in the store if you want. Just tell them which ones and they will give it to you, that simple. Enjoyed my visit there very much and can't wait to go back. ;-)

Bought a new Linksys router yesterday and installed it last night. Works awesome, so my computer is back to normal again. Feels so good to be back online! So last night and today I have been busy a lot trying to catch up from being offline.

This weeks guitar lesson went pretty good. He was happy with where I am with my playing. ummm, so happy that he gave me a CD and said learn to play the song on it. LOL

Plus we had tornado warnings all around us all last evening. Glad to say nothing happened near us and haven't heard of any damage done anywhere yet. Hope there wasn't any either!

So good to see everyone again. lol

Damn, I feel like an outcast....

Our router went dead on us last night and only Wanda's computer is working by connecting the modem into her computer just as we would if we only had one computer. I try doing the same with mine and I can't get a connection. So looks like we have one computer until sometime next week......... hopefully!
Problem number two, I can't log into entrecard on her computer. My drop list is on my computer. I was going to drop from my inbox but I can't login to Entrecard. I've reset password and done all I can think of and it won't let me in. So I'm stuck to doing pretty much nothing on the internet until we get another router. HATE it when my internet connection is screwed up!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!

Sorry to all that I drop on for sure!!

Update: I finally got logged into Entrecard and got drops done though my inbox. Hopefully I will be able to every day. Sorry if I miss any of my normal drops!
