Washington Can Be So Stupid!
Seems Washington came up with this idea to update the Air Force One. So Louis Caldera goes and approves a photo of The Air Force One flying over the Statue Of Liberty. The photo is estimated to cost taxpayers $328,835. $35,000 just in fuel for Air Force One and the escort of two jet fighters across NYC.
The sight of the huge passenger jet and an F-16 fighter plane flying past the Statue of Liberty and the lower Manhattan financial district sent panicked office workers streaming into the streets on April 27.
Obama said it was a mistake to do and would not happen again. Well duh! Wonder if it ever even crossed their minds that it wouldn't happen?? Sure people are going to panic attack these days when they a huge plain with two jet fighters flying anywhere in the USA, specially near NYC and Washington, DC. I think it was a real stupid move by those in Washington. And Calsera should be canned because if he is so stupid in approving something like this, what else might he do??

I just saw on Fox where Obama was joking about his daughters being grounded for taking Airforce 1 out for a joy ride. Everyone laughed. I think joking about it was really lacking any thought.
yeah I read this and thought it was really dumb too. I was appalled at the pics random people took of it. It looked really scary. I also read somewhere that someone resigned over it. It may have been that guy you mentioned who approved it. I am not positive.
I agree that it was a bone head move but what cracks me up is that it is not even a decent photo! It looks like a snapshot at best! I could have Photoshopped a better image! LOL!
This is just one of many idiotic mistakes. It's sad too see how little thought is applied when things are planned and how inconsiderate of the consequences they can be. Nice move to waste tax payers money for a photo but what else did you expect?
You get what you pay for...uhm...voted for in this case...
What was the point of the photo anyway? What on earth are they going to use it for? "Official Postcards"? Probably, so then they can waste our taxpayer $ on postage!
