I just want to be sure, sooo......

Can someone answer me and say if I am right or not. Maybe (hopefully} I'm having a blonde moment here.

From what I read in the Entrecard blog, Paid ads are coming back????? But this time, they will run only 15% of the time instead of 50% as before.

BUT...... the fact is, paid ads and ec ads will be sharing the same widget once again taking away from the ec paying ads??? Right????
Thanks for any help!

Entrecard widget has been moved down into the sidebar. And the Adgitize widget moved to the top as it gives move value than Entrecard does.

That's sure what it sounds like. Not only that, but we don't get the choice of whether or not to approve them. EC will pick what they deem "appropriate" and the "sponsor ads" will run on your widget whether you want them to or not. How do you like them apples???

Hi there and thanks muches! Really I prefer pears over apples. lol
But pretty much what I figure and don't think I wanna deal with them paid ads again. I said before, that I would not let those paid ads take anything away from the people paying with ec's from running 100% and I still stand by what I said. Looks like my time with Entrecard is set!

yeah that's what it sounded like to me....but it did sound like they were going to be putting up an option "eventually" that allowed us to not approve ads that don't mesh with our blogs or something like that. It's not available yet though. I don't know. I don't like it and I feel like it is completely not the point of Entrecard but whatever. What do I know? haha

Yes, I'm reading it the way you are--it's going to be "obligatory" that 15% of the "ad time" now belongs to EC to post whatever paid ads they deem to be "appropriate." I'm pulling back, then out. I'm not accepting any new EC ads now, but am letting folks know I've got Adgitize and Project Wonderful ready to showcase blogs ads. I'm with you--I'm not letting paid ads overlay/cut into "face time" on my widget that has been paid for by bloggers patiently dropping on hundreds of blogs per day. Losing the EC points for receiving drops and for posting to the blog was insulting enough. It seems EC has stopped valuing the efforts and time of the blogger so this has become a losing proposition, IMHO

Paid ads are coming back in the form of "sponsored" ads.

The difference this time between last time...

    1) The paid ad will only show for 15% of the time on your widget.

    2) There is NO option to refuse the paid ads.

I moved my EC widgets to the very bottom of all my blogs. I'm not quite ready to leave, but I will be watching very carefully to see what shows up in the form of paid ads.

That's how it read to me too. I'm going to give it a chance for a couple of days to see how it goes. If I don't like it, I'll probably remove Entrecard from all but one blog.

You'd have thought Entrecard would put ads on their blog, dashboard, forum and profile pages. I don't see why they should put ads on our blogs where there aren't any on their site.

This was the way I read it, I was writing a similar site to EntreCard a while ago but it got put on the back burner as I thought EC may be changing for the better.

It may soon be time for me to bring it forward again

Another really, really dumb move by EC. I've weathered a lot of crap; this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I love the blops so much, and I love the traffic. But I just hate EC.

I wish someone out there would invent something similar to EC (the "dropping" concept) without the crappy management of EC. Surely there MUST be a geek who can do the same thing?!?! Is the idea of dropping on other cards patented or something?!

"blops" LOL! I typed it "blops." Well, you know what I meant! but rofl what a funny typo!!!

Hi and Thanks everyone for stopping by. Been seeing more and more people saying the same as you guys too. Been reading the forums and I'm just not liking Entrecards cranky way of running the ship now. To start with, it's sucks to see threads closed down just because they don't like what people say. And every day I see stuff from them showing that they don't care what we think. Wake up Entrecard, you need us way more than we'll ever need you. Always remember, bloggers can close you down real fast!

LOL!! @ Mrs Mecomber! Love your typos anytime! lol

Hi there! Yes, I read that and I guess I will be leaving Entrecard because that is $100 for Wanda and I. We can't pay that. And I still stand when I said I will not make people that work to advertise and paying with ec's share a widget with something that can dish out a buck or two for ads.

You can ad me to the list of those leaving Entrecard. Absolutely will not pay NOT to have unwanted ads. Enough is enough.

    Hi,

When EntreCard started with the PaidAds routine, I refused them... With EC now running a referral program as well, its just become another junk exchange.

I held off leaving in hopes that the new owners would bring life back into EC. I should have stuck to my instincts.

My traffic sharing program, "Along for the Ride!" has done remarkably better then EC for quality traffic in its short life thanks to its many good members. I'll just have more time to work on it soon.

sure what it sounds like. Not only that, but we don't get the choice of whether or not to approve them. EC will pick what they deem "appropriate" and the "sponsor ads"
