LMAO! This is getting funny!

Setting here clicking on refresh and I get 5 different cards showing in my Entrecard widget. LOL!
And that's all I have to say about that. Going to set outside awhile now. ;-))

Update: I'm very sorry to say that during dropping tonight was totally the biggest bore.
The one thing I really enjoy about dropping, is seeing the many different card designs in the widgets. That didn't happen tonight! Most of my 300 drops showed about 4 of the same paid ad cards.
I'm going to have to give Entrecard a lot a thought.

Happy to see that no werewolf ads have shown up so far. But if Mr. Madoff gets his grubby hands on a computer, I'm ready! I think I'll refresh now.

I just turned them off until I know and understand more about it. I just don't see it right to take away advertising time from someone who has paid to show.

    I was shocked too..
when i logged in at my EC,
i saw it in the dashboard..

I see a hugh laurie-esque looking guy in your EC widget at the moment...stopping by to drop and say hi

  • CrAzY Working Mom said....

Yep, I see a guy that looks like "House" as well...same one when I refreshed. BUT, with that being said, I don't know how much longer I'll stick with EC either. Strange stuff going on now. We'll see...

Adding you on my blogroll now.

Yo, Chilly. I don't get it as well. To be honest, I don't know how to change my settings so I ended up approving every single ad, all 20 of them. I don't know what will happen next. This ads business sounded simple during the discussions but Lanne's post gave a different side. I just hope EC fixes this soon.

it was the same for me chilly! its getting bad now. then i found out today the cash credits system isnt even in place yet, until entrecard get enough money to set it up, so we have been having free ads on our site and we get nothing!

I have started rejecting mine! we could at least get some credits for each ad. No one is happy it seems! Plus my ad requests from blogs have dropped. im not surprised :(

I agree, chilly. I rejected all ads but one on each of my accounts until I give this more thought. I am a little ticked because now, when we advertise on a widget, we are going to wind up getting half the clicks, if that, that we normally do. Stupid system. They should simply double the size of the widget as an alternative.

Hey, CHilly, just posted an article re the new ad system.

Same disgruntled blogger here. Yuk. I was mad for a while, because I'd rejected some ads and they still showed up. I also enjoy seeing the various widget designs... this ad stuff takes the wind out of the sails, doesn't it?

yeah I totally understand and I feel the same way. I don't get it at all. :(

Hi Everyone and thanks for stopping by! Really is a pleasure to see people drop in that I've met because of Entrecard!!

    But...
This is getting more crazy the more I read and try to understand. But I read stuff today that pretty much says, we play their game or they weed us out. I know I have been and still am sick for over a week now and all this is not making me feel any better but this blog was suppose to be fun and just a hubby. It's becoming more of a headache now and I will not be told I have to do something with and on my own site.

Just for the record, I have no problem helping out Entrecard, hell, I might world even give them an ad spot somewhere on my blog, but I do not see it's fair when we have to share a widget between blog adverts and paid adverts. If someones sits and puts in time to drop cards so they can advertise on another blog, that comes higher on the list to me over someone who can just fork out a couple bucks to advertise.
Saying all this, I'm getting pretty much bored with these paid ads already. Blogs are suppose to be fun and it's not now. At least not with Entrecard now. (yeah, I can hear Graham right now, "Go ahead and leave, I don't care")

In closing my comment, this blog will be 2 years old on the 24th of this month. I think maybe that is about long enough and if I don't change my mind, it could be a good time to give it up.

Don't despair, Chilly! There are more ways to get traffic than just Entrecard. Recently, I've gotten active with BlogExplosion and Adgitize -- BlogExplosion is great and I'll have to wait and see about Adgitize.

I hate the paid ads at Entrecard, too (I hate the way they've been implemented, at least) What a bunch of crap.

I'm trying to figure this out too. If someone actually pays for an ad, I thought they were sharing a 24 hr time slot with an ad that paid with EC credits. But, it seems that is not the case. I'm seeing a number of paid ads rotating throughout the day, so it doesn't seem like they're getting they're money's worth either. It's all very confusing.

  • Susan Cook said....

I didn't know it was going to be like this either. I didn't realize there would be so many paid ads, and that they would be knocking out the people who paid credits to be there.

I feel like what is the point of me advertising on someone's blog if I'm just going to get bumped by the paid ads.

  • Greg said....

I think EC has done it all wrong and the maths do not add up.

ie to place an ad here on your blog costs 1024 credits, to buy 1000 credits from EC costs $6

When I advertised on here a couple of days ago (hugh laurie?) I got about 25 clicks, with the new payment system the same number of clicks will cost just $0.50, $5.50 cheaper) so where is the incentive for bloggers to pay for ads with their credits, which in turn makes me wonder where is the incentive to drop?

This is a total mess and spells the end of EC as it was.

  • MamaFlo said....

My thought on EC is that they need a dual EC and dropping once would give the free advert 1 click and the paid advert a half click or something to that effect.

Hello The Hawg! I thought BlogExplosion had died a slow death a year ago. I haven't been there for 6-7 months because it was so down and no one could get help with anything. But I have relooked at it for the last couple of evenings and thinking I may start spending some more time there again.

Hi Lynne and Sue! Yeah, I agree! Nothing is as I thought it would be. First, I thought the 3rd party ads would come from outside of Entrecard. No idea it would be only other bloggers. Everything I know of Entrecard has changed.

Hello Greg! Agreed! I don't see the point in dropping anymore. I don't see the point in trying to advertise on anyone because you'll only get half your time to advertise. Also you don't know anymore who to advertise on either because many people I've seen say, "no paid ads on my blog" have turned totally around and put them on. Drops and incoming ec adverts have dropped way down. While paid ads have went though the roof. In 3 1/2 days now, I've had 1 ec paid ad and 67 paid ads to come my way. I'm just before ready to pull my Entrecard widget off.

Hi MamaFlo! I totally 100% agree with you and I will not make ec paying advert share one widget with money paying ads. It's really not fair on both sides. We need a 2nd widget or a double card widget in place to run both sets of advertisers.
